About Therese

THERESE SIBON, M.S., LAc., is a licensed acupuncturist with private practices in New York City and New Paltz, New York. Therese received her Masters of Science in Acupuncture from TriState College of Acupuncture, New York City and a B.S. From Brown University, Providence, RI.

Therese is on the faculty at TriStateCollege of Acupuncture. She has also led classes at SUNY New Paltz, teaching RNs (registered nurses) about acupuncture, complementary medicine and how they work with western medicine. Therese teaches seminars in New Paltz, NY and New York City on self care, Chinese Medicine and living in the Tao.

Therese primarily works with Five Element / Alchemical acupuncture, but she is trained in several styles of acupuncture as well, which she uses when the person and the situation requires it. These other styles include: TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Kiiko Matsomoto Japanese acupuncture, Motor Points and Trigger Point release for musculo-skeletal issue and MeiZen cosmetic acupuncture.

Therese integrates the following into her acupuncture practice: moxibustion, acupressure, gua-sha, cupping, Zero Balancing, electro-acupuncture, nutritional counseling, western herbs, essential oils, flower essences, visioning and meditation practices.

Nationally certified in the NADA protocol, Therese completed multiple clinic rotations at Lincoln Recovery Center (Bronx, NY) and St. Vincent’s Stress Reduction Clinic (New York City). She is also trained in MeiZen Cosmetic Acupuncture. Therese has taken a 2-year-long mentorship program in Five Element / Alchemical Acupuncture with Lorie DeChar.

Therese has completed extensive studies in western herbs for over 20 years.

Therese has trained as a Social Inclusion Counselor, with Kim John Payne. The Social Inclusion Process addresses bullying and teasing among children and adults. The main component of this groundbreaking approach is the practice of accountability with no blame. Therese has worked with elementary and middle school age children employing this method since 1999.

Therese frequently lectures on Chinese medicine, acupuncture, general health prevention, wellness and health maintenance topics.
